Five delicious and healthy meals for you and your dog
Dogs can’t eat everything that humans can. But there are plenty of human foods that are healthy for dogs to eat.  And there are even some meals that both you and your dog can enjoy together. 
A spinach omelet
Eggs are egg-cellent for pooches and the spinach gives your dog a healthy dose of fiber.

Ingredients: 2 eggs + 1 cup spinach, 1  1 ⁄ 2 cup grated parmesan + salt and pepper to taste.

 

Method:

  • Crack 2 eggs into bowl

  • Add spinach whisk ingredients together

  • Over medium heat pour in egg mixture into pan

  • Move one side of the egg mixture towards the centre of the pan until almost cooked If desired (fill with some extra cheese and spinach in the middle for added flavor) Fold omelette into the centre

  • Do not add cheese if your dog is lactose intolerant and take care not to add too much salt.

Chicken and brown rice
All the protein and fibre you and your dog need to keep strong and healthy

Ingredients: 2 chicken breasts + 2 cups brown rice + 2 tbsp olive oil + salt and pepper to taste

 

Method:

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • Turn on oven to moderate heat

  • In pan over medium heat add oil and brown the chicken breasts

  • Once the chicken breasts are browed put in oven safe pan and put into the oven To cook.

  • Add 4 cups of water to a pot with 1 tbsp salt and 2 tbsp olive oil so rice does not Stick to the bottom.

  • Once water has come to a boil add 2 cups brown rice and stir every 5 mins for

  • 20-25 mins.

Chicken and Vegetable Pasta
A healthy meal packed with protein, carbs and vegetables

Ingredients: 1 1 ⁄ 2 cup pasta penne + 1 ⁄ 2 cup corn + 1 ⁄ 2 cup corn + 2 carrots + 1 ⁄ 4 cup spinach + 1 ⁄ 4 cup broccoli + 1 ⁄ 3 cup peas + 2 tbsp salt

Method:

  • Add 2 cups water and 1 tbsp salt and bring to the boil.

  • Add 1 1 ⁄ 2 cup penne pasta cook for 15 mins

  • Roughly chop carrots.

  • In second pot add 3 cups water and 1 tbsp salt

  • Add corn, peas, broccoli and spinach into pot and put lid over and boil for 20 mins

  • Ingredients: 4 tbsp olive oil 3 tomatoes diced

  • 1 to 2 tbsp tomato paste salt and pepper to taste

  • Over medium heat add oil and tomatoes cook until thickened.

  • Add tomato paste to your taste and salt and pepper

  • If too bitter add a few pinches of sugar.

Fruit salad 
Fruit salad is the perfect desert for you and your dog. Simple and delicious.

Ingredients:​ 1 cup watermelon seedless/rindless + 1 large apple seedless skinned  +

2 mango seedless + 1 ⁄ 4 cup blueberries + 1 orange rindless + 1 punnet strawberries topless + 2 peaches

 

Method:

  •  Chop up the watermelon making sure to remove the rind

  •  Open mango and remove pip then slice to desired size

  •  Peel the orange then separate/slice to desired size

  •  Slice open peaches and remove pip and slice to desired size

  •  Peel the apple (dogs can't eat the skin) then cut into 8ths

  •  Combine all ingredients into a large bowl

Pop corn
A great snack for the couch or movie night

Ingredients: 1 cup popcorn kernels + 2 tbsp olive

 

Method:

  •  Place over medium heat in a pot or pan add two tbsp of olive oil

  •  Add 1 cup popcorn kernels to pot or pan

  •  Cover with lid until there is one pop every 5 seconds


DON'T ADD BUTTER OR SALT AS IT IS BAD FOR YOUR DOG
